Facts about Queen Victoria Place

Queen Victoria Place is a not-for-profit life-lease community providing independent living for those over 55. We are a self-managed community relying on resident volunteers to run and manage our facility. As such, we reserve the right to select people who will maintain and
benefit our friendly community.
If you are interested in participating in our community as a resident, please contact us either by phone 519-882-1334 or e-mail queenvictoriaplace@gmail.com to arrange for a meeting with our interview committee. This would be the first step in the application process.
Successful applicants will be part of a reserve pool and may be contacted when a unit
becomes available.

  • One spouse in a unit must be 55+ to qualify for accommodations.

  • Residents of QVP have input into decisions affecting their building which permits them to monitor the management of their building.

Life Lease

Residents purchase the right to occupy a unit in our building for themselves but may not pass the unit on after they die or leave.

Monthly Fee

A modest monthly fee is paid by all residents at QVP, based on the square footage of their suite. Items covered by the monthly fee include:

  • Cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior common areas
  • Water and sewage charges
  • Gas and hydro
  • Common area utilities
  • Project management costs
  • Insurance on property and building
  • Salaries of office, custodial and maintenance staff
  • Property taxes

Other

Residents must provide insurance for personal items and personal liability.
Residents are required to pay for telephone services, tv provider and internet, if desired.
